Physicians
Two physicians are on staff at the Lebanon Endoscopy Center. They are Donald Cole, M.D., and Chris White, M.D., both of whom are Board Certified Gastroenterologists by the American Board of Internal Medicine. They specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive system, such as hepatitis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, and colon or rectal cancer.
Donald A. Cole, M.D.
Since 1996, Dr. Cole has served as a Staff Gastroenterologist at the University Medical Center in Lebanon. In addition, he has been in private practice specializing in gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Shah joined Dr. Cole in 2005.
Dr. Cole brings more than 25 years of professional health care experience to the Lebanon Endoscopy Center. Prior to locating to Lebanon, he was the Director of Endoscopy, Assistant Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Staff Gastroenterologist at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Ft. Gordon, GA. While there, Dr. Cole performed colonoscopy, EGD, liver biopsy, ERCP and all related procedures for the 350-bed hospital.
Dr. Cole also practiced at the 5th General U.S. Army Hospital, Bad Cannstatt, Germany, where he also was appointed Chief of Medicine for the 130-bed hospital and was responsible for supervising the buildup of ICU facilities during Operations Desert Shield/Storm, among other duties.
Dr. Cole did his Fellowship Training in Gastroenterology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C, where he received subspecialty training in the field of Gastroenterology and its associated procedures. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Cole received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Mars Hill College in North Carolina, where he was a cum laude graduate.
Dr. Cole is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He also is the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster for his military service.

Chris White, M.D.
Dr. White is the newest member of the physician team at Lebanon Endoscopy Center. He received his medical training from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Dr. White received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also Board Certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
